Worlds in Upper Hutt

What a week of cycling, on Sunday Thor Hushovd (Norway) claimed his first rainbow jersey in the annual world road race championship and on Wednesday evening Dan (Polish Kiwi) won the weekly BIKE HUTT Worlds.

Both Worlds finished in a sprint but in the end the strongest won. The sprint for second (Wednesday) was a hotly contested one between Paul and Brett. Great to see and I am sure that the Victoria Uni team, Hannes (one man team), BIKE HUTT staff and the original FASSA team (Stu, Phil & myself)  will sort out their lead out trains and keep everyone honest.

There was a total of 27 riders on Wednesday and it was great to see so many new and regular riders attending. We will continue to go up Wally Hill for a few weeks until it gets a bit lighter so for those of you that want to meet at the top we should be there about 6.10pm. The main bunch will still depart from the BIKE HUTT at 6pm. Get there early and check out the latest bike bling Mike has in stock.

A big welcome to Ross and Aaron to the CAMPAG brotherhood. Your applications were accepted and you can now ride the best cycling equipment in the world. For those of you that are riding the fishing reel brand and sram, don't feel down, applications are still being taken to ride CAMPAGNOLO. If you were lucky enough to watch the Worlds in Geelong you would have noticed that there were fishing reel brand support vehicles everywhere but not one CAMPAG. The reason for this is CAMPAG doesn't break down.

Hope those of you that rode on Wednesday enjoyed it and I look forward to see more of you others in the coming weeks.
